Evelyn Anderson

Evelyn Gertrude Emma Anderson, 86, of Red Wing, died Monday at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born January 16, 1921 in Odebolt, Iowa to Lorence and Lela (Gertsmeier) Lichtenburg. She graduated from high school in 1939 and worked as a phone operator for Bell Telephone for 25 years. She married G. Harold Anderson on August 5, 1964 in Storm Lake, Iowa and they lived in Red Wing, where she worked at the old city library. They moved to the Seminary Plaza in 1995. Harold died March 9 , 1995. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church she enjoyed making greeting cards and playing cards and games with her friends at the plaza.

She is survived by one brother, Kenneth (Beverly) Lichtenburg of Mesa, Ariz.; one niece, Linda (Mike) Jones of Tempe, Ariz. and two nephews, Brian (Vickie) Lichtenburg of Cleveland, Tenn. and Kenneth (Marjorie) Peterson of Maplewood, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one nephew, Lee Lichtenburg.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to St. John's School or Church.
