Evelyn Keyes Anderson, 89, of Red Wing, died Thursday, January 17, 2008, at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born January 19, 1918, in Minneapolis to Arthur and Anna (Kincaid) Thompson. She married Oliver Anderson on July 20, 1941. They lived in Fairmont where she worked for the city's assessor's office. She volunteered with Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls where she received the Silver Medallion Award at the Campfire National Convention in San Francisco, California in 1963 and was a past president of the PTA. In the middle 1970's they moved to Red Wing. She attended University of Wisconsin, River Falls graduating in 1978 with senior special academic honors and Hamline Law School receiving her law degree in 1981. She practiced with Peder Hong and then had her private practice in Red Wing. Oliver died on July 11, 2005. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls League of Women's Voters and AAUW. She was active politically, especially with the DFL party. She received the Pro Bono Publico Attorney Award in 1986.
Survivors include three children, Louise "Bootsie" (LaMonte) Lauridsen of Baldwin, Kansas, Leonard (Dien) Anderson of Red Wing and Ellen (Barry) Johnson of Hastings; seven grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Cannon Falls League of Women's Voters. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
