Evalyn F. Savela, age 97 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born on May 26, 1915 in Chicago, IL to Albert and Emilie (Sommerfeld) Feicho. She worked as a LPN for many years at Whittier Hospital in Whittier, CA. She moved to Lake City in 2005 to be near her daughter Marcia. Evalyn loved bingo and occasional trips to the casino.
Evalyn is survived by one daughter, Marcia Savela of Lake City, MN; one son, Gerald Savela of Santa Rosa, CA; four granddaughters, Heidi DeAngelis of Eau Claire, WI, Robin Savela of Ashland, OR, Lori Schneider of Salt Lake City, UT and Marci Chikko of Chicago, IL; four great granddaughters, Sasha DeAngelis, Amanda Savela, Aimee Schneider, MiaBella Chikko.
Evalyn is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Savela; five sisters, Hilda, Edna, Emily, Charlotte and Erline; and one brother, Atmor.
Burial will take place on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery in Chicago, Ill.
