Eunice I. (Morris) Markham

Eunice I. Markham, 100, of Oronoco, died on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at her residence. She was born on March 19, 1921, in Farmington Township, Olmsted County, to Richard and Gene (Burch) Morris. Eunice grew up on the farm and attended District 96 school through the 8th grade. She met Vernon F. Markham at a dance and they were united in marriage on August 30, 1945. She helped with housework, farm chores, field work, and drove horses. She also worked as a waitress. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, making quilts, and raising flowers. She also enjoyed sports, kittenball, and fishing. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Oronoco, a bible study group, and a birthday club.

She is survived by her three children, Susan (Richard) Hareldson, Laverne (Jackie) Markham, and John (Mickey) Markham; five grandchildren, Becky, Bonnie, Brenda, Matthew, and Stacey; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon and two brothers, Ralph and Dale Morris.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Memorials are preferred to the Presbyterian Church of Oronoco. Arrangements by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
