RED WING ? The funeral for Eugene ?Gene? Ryan will be 2 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 7, 2007) at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Eric Westlake officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jeffrey, Jon, Joseph, and Greg Ryan, and Debra Ann and Roger Pahl Mr. Ryan, 74, of Red Wing, died Friday (Feb. 2, 2007) at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center in Red Wing. Born May 31, 1932 on the family farm in Belle Creek Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota to Michael and Minnie (Johnson) Ryan, he was raised in the White Rock Area and attended Cannon Falls schools. He worked for the Swift Company in St. Paul before entering the U. S. Army in1953. He served in Korea and was Honorably Discharged in 1954. He returned to work for the Swift Company and on Sept. 22, 1956 he married Judith Banks in Vasa, MN, she died May 2, 1992. He worked for the Swift Company until the mid 1960?s. He was then an auto mechanic until going to work for the Mid America Dairy in Zumbrota in the early 1970?s. He also farmed and retired from Mid America in the early 1980?s due to health problems. He then worked part-time at Treasure Island Casino. On May 14, 1999 he married Judy Wilson in Ellsworth, WI, she survives. He has resided at the Seminary Home in Red Wing for the past five years. He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Zumbrota. He enjoyed cars, bikes, and old televisions and radios. Survivors include his wife of Red Wing; a daughter Debra Ann (Roger) Pahl of Pine Island; four sons, Jeffrey T. (Carolyn) of Goodhue; Jon and Joseph both of Zumbrota; and Greg (Michele) of Red Wing; nineteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren, two step-sons Jaime Wilson of Red Wing; and Ryan Wilson of Wilmar, MN; and a brother Roy (Lil) of Goodhue. His first wife, parents, a son, one sister, three brothers, a half sister, and a half brother preceded him in death. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and one hour before the service at the church Wednesday.
