Ethel Harriet Haga, 94, of Red Wing, died Saturday at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was born on September 13, 1912 in Red Wing to Lars and Marie (Amundson) Haga. She graduated from Stillwater High School and the from the University of Minnesota in 1948. She attended River Falls Teachers College and for a couple of years she taught school. She then became a dietician for several hospitals in Minneapolis and St. Paul area. For many years she lived in Maplewood and in 1993 moved to Red Wing to the Villa at Hi-Park. Since June of this year she has resided at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, baking and cooking. Survivors include three local cousins, Walter (Ruth) Smith, Gene (Jo) Smith and DeLoris (Bob) Tubbesing all of Red Wing; two nephews, Bill (Carol) Clapp of Roberts, Wis. and Roger (Janice) Clapp of Sheboygan, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Thelma Clapp. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel at St. Brigid?s of Hi-Park with Rev. Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park or St. Paul?s Lutheran Church.
