Esther M. Weberg

Esther M. Weberg, 90, of Red Wing, died Friday, February 26, 2010, at (Ebenezer) Deer Crest. She was born July 8, 1919 at her home in Stockholm, Wisconsin, the daughter of Samuel and Agnes (Lind) Steien. She attended schools in Stockholm. Esther was married to Norris Weberg on September 28, 1936. They farmed for seven years in Stockholm before moving to Esdaile in 1943. In 1972 they retired and moved to Red Wing. The later years she made her home at (Ebenezer) Deer Crest. She enjoyed gardening, her farm duties, having company, and spending time with family. She was an active member in her church circle, the altar guild, quilting group, and the hospital auxiliary. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine (Herbert) Johnson of Red Wing, Judy (Duane) Walbridge of Red Wing, and Jane (Harland) Schultz of Hager City; two sons, Vernon (Mary Lou) Weberg of Hastings and Virgil (Elaine) Weberg of Bay City; son-in-law Bob Hendel of Red Wing; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lorraine Wallin of Red Wing, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Norris in 1992; daughter, Arlene Hendel; three sisters, Eleanor Larson, Myrtle Lundberg, and Mayme Dobos; brothers, Wilbur, Clarence, Harold, and an infant brother.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Reverend Tyge Zucker officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church and Red Wing Hospice.
