Esther Tesch, 87, of Rochester, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Rochester Assembly of God with Pastor Jim Filbeck officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-9 P.M. Tuesday at the church and for one hour Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Esther Mae Wilken was born January 15, 1920 in Crosby, Minnesota to Charles and Ellen (Chase) Wilken. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1938. Esther married Lester Tesch on January 15, 1940 in Rochester. Lester died March 24, 1996. She worked as a seamstress at Drest-Well Dry Cleaners and retired from St. Mary's Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. She had resided at Shorewood Place since 2002. Esther was a member of the Rochester Assembly of God where she was active in Sunday school and church activities. Esther enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading the Bible and writing in her journal.
She is survived by six children, JoAnn (Roger) Westra of Stewartville, Laird (Shelly) Tesch of Lake City, Pam (Adrian) Farrington and Carol (Charles) Geselle both of Rochester, Twila (Dennis) Nielsen of Mauston, Wisconsin and Faye (Rick) Fisher of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and special friend, Jake Seehusen. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; a brother and a sister.
