Esther Margareta Wilhelmina Rasmusson

Esther Margareta Wilhelmina Kunde was born on August 21, 1917 to Julius and Emma (nee Banitt) Kunde in Zumbrota Township. Esther attended Goodhue County School District #111 through the 8th grade. After school Esther worked for several families in the area as a housekeeper. On November 30, 1937 she married John F. Nelson, they had two daughters together and later divorced. Esther worked for Ahlborn's Café in Zumbrota for 4 years, her last day was December 7, 1951. Esther was married the following day December 8, 1951 to Donald E. Rasmusson, they moved to Rochester, MN and had two daughters. Esther was a homemaker before going to work for Libby's. In 1967 she went to work for Rochester Methodist Hospital as a housekeeper. Esther and Donald moved to Zumbrota, MN in 1978 and she retired in 1979. Esther and Donald enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards before he passed in 1982. For the last 30 years Esther enjoyed traveling to many places with friends and family, baking, shopping, knitting and embroidery, gardening and growing roses, reading her bible and spending lots of time with family.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Kaye (Eldon) Hinsch of Goodhue, and Susan (Larry) Skillestad of Rochester; son-in-law, Ken M. Welliver of Tucson, AZ.; 5 grandchildren, Jeff (Anne Marie) Welliver, Shelann (Robert) Lockwood, Nancy Trelstad, Michael (Ann) Hinsch, and Mary (Warren) Josephson; 6 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Rasmusson; daughters, Sally O'Brien and Elaine Welliver; 1 granddaughter, Jane Hinsch; 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
