Erwin F. Bargsten age 85 of Lake City died Saturday June 2, 2007 at his home do to complications from Leukemia.

Erwin was born May 31, 1922 in Red Wing to William & Helen (Ehlers) Bargsten. Erwin grew up in Belvidere Township and attended District 23 School and he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940. After he graduated he worked on the family farm. He married Verona Witt June 9, 1943 at West Florence Lutheran Church. They continued farming in Hay Creek Township after they where married. He also worked at Di ? Acro in Lake City for 17 years. They moved to Lake City in 1997. He was a member of West Florence Lutheran Church, and he also served on the Hay Creek Town Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cribbage and he was an avid bird watcher.
He is survived by his wife, three sons; Dale (Beth) of Corvallis, OR; Stephen (Carol) of Stillwater, MN; Stanley (Denise) of Lake City; one daughter Nancy Bargsten of Chisago City, MN; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step ?great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mildred Fossberg, and Marcella Anderson.

A Memorial service will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the West Florence Lutheran Church with Rev. Christopher Hoppe officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Memorials are preferred to Leukemia Research or to donor's choice.
