Ervin Wiebusch, age 82, of Lake City died Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health.
Ervin John Wiebusch was born December 4, 1927 in Gillford Township to John and Lucy (Schumann) Wiebusch. Ervin grew up on the family farm in Gillford Township, attended The Rural Lincoln School and continued his education at Lake City Lincoln High School. He married Bernice Krismer on May 1, 1954 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in West Albany. They farmed in Gillford Township until retiring in 1987 when they moved to Lake City. He is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Lake City Lion's Club, Lake City Sportsman's Club, Woodcarvers Club, and Red Wing Pottery Club. Ervin served on the Gillford Township and school boards for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with the family. Ervin loved farming with his John Deere tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Lake City; three sons, James (Geri), Jerry (Kim), Jeffrey (Ruby) Wiebusch all of Lake City; three daughters, Joan (William) Cronin of Lake City, Jane (Gary) Timm of Millville, and Julie (Michael) Zsido of Stevens Point, WI; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother Harold (Marge) Wiebusch of Lake City; three sisters, Margaret (Clifford) Rabe, Julia (Harold) Siefert, Loa (Floyd) Olson all of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lucille Wiebusch.
Funeral service will be 1p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ervin's grandchildren, Jason Cronin, Heidi Bussan, Ryan Cronin, Amber Mahoney, Teresa Atkinson, Cara Wiebusch, Chris Wiebusch, Eric Wiebusch, Elyssa Wiebusch, Blake Timm, Grant Timm, Jake Wiebusch, Jessica Wiebusch, Grace Zsido, and Zach Zsido. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
