Erik Leroy Tri, age 39 of Red Wing, died on Saturday, July 18, 2009 as a result of a massive heart attack. Erik was born on August 18, 1969 in Minneapolis, the only child of Eddy and Pat (Gustafson) Tri. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1987. He married Christine Anderson on April 15, 1996 in Las Vegas and they just celebrated their 13th anniversary this year. Erik had been employed as a machinist for D. L. Ricci, Intek Plastics, and currently at Tempco Corporation in Mendota Heights. He was a member of the Bellechester American Legion Post # 598. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and taking his kids to Wisconsin Dells.
Erik is survived by his wife Chris of Red Wing; children Austin, Alex, and Anna all at home; parents Eddy and Pat Tri of Red Wing; maternal grandmother Evelyn Larson of Red Wing; paternal grandmother Dorothy (Donald) Sipelmeyer of Red Wing; Father-in-law Bruce Anderson; Mother-in-law Jane Payton; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Vernon Gustafson, Wilbur Tri and Paul Larson
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing. Pallbearers will be Rob Stewart, Kenny Diercks, Matt and Mike Childs, Steve Hoppwood and Rich Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marshall Childs and Chad Wilcox. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred for Erik's children.
