Eric Jon Tix, age 26, of Red Wing, died Saturday, August 11, 2007, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born on September 27, 1980, in Red Wing, to Clayton and Susan (Woodford) Tix. He was a 1999 graduate of Red Wing High School and he worked for UPS. He had a successful career in Ultimate Fighting with continuing training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) He was a member of the Prairie Island Indian Community and a founding member of the Dakota Fight Team with his father. He would contribute to many charitable organizations.
He is survived by his significant other, Emmy Hinrichs of Red Wing; two children, Logan Jacob Hinrichs and Brianna Lee Tix, at home; his father, Clayton of Red Wing; his mother, Susan Woodford of Cincinnati, Ohio; his brother, Robert Tix of Minneapolis; two sisters, Samantha Tix of Minneapolis, and Christina Henderson of Florida; paternal grandparents, Sharon (Bill) Tix of Hastings, and Frederick Urich of Pierre, South Dakota; and maternal grandfather, Robert Woodford of Florida; one niece, Tyler McGrath; and many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were one sister, Brianna Tix; two brothers, Michael and Jeffery Tix; and his maternal grandmother, Anita Woodford
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Prairie Island Community Center with Rev Mark Kalb officiating. Pallbearers will be Phil White, Ryan Johnson, Jeremy Stone, Paul Seeley, Mitch Wells, Andrew Wells, Kelly Byers, Billy Nelson, John Steele and Dustin "Shaggy" Stensrud. Visitation will be from 6 � 9 p.m. Tuesday at the community center. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling arrangements.
