Emery Prigge

Emery C. Prigge age 85 of Lake City died Friday August 4, 2006 at home. Emery was born December 23, 1920 in Lake City, Minnesota to William & Alvina (Bomback) Prigge. Emery joined the Army in 1942 and was discharge in 1945. Emery served during WW II and was stationed in China, Burma and India. When he was discharged he returned to Lake City. Emery married Dorothy Gnotke in 1947. She passed away in 1950. Emery later married Wilda Erickson March 19, 1955 at Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester. He worked for the Lake City School system for 35 years until retiring in 1983. Emery was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church in Lake City, Lake City VFW Post 8729 and the Lake City Sportsman Club. Emery was survived by his wife; three daughters, Simone (Denny) Voll of Stewertville, Nancy (Jeff) Jumbeck of Winona, Karen (Jeff) Hubbard of Stewertville; two sons Steve (Julie) of Lake City, Jeff (Jeri) of Lake City; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and four sisters. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Scott Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in St. John?s Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Military Rites will be by the Lake City VFW Post 8729 and American Legion Post 110.
