Mr. Arneson 79, of Rochester, died Monday, February 22, 2016, just one day shy of his 80th birthday, at his daughter Kara's home in Rosemount, MN.
Elton Charles Arneson was born February 23, 1936 in Rochester, Olmsted County, to Elton and Pearl Arneson. Raised in Rochester, he was a graduate of Rochester High School, Class of 1954. Mr. Arneson was an Army veteran, having served from 1954 to 1956. On July 14, 1956, he married Sherry King in Rochester. He then worked at IBM in Rochester for 30 years as a quality control inspector, where he retired in 1986.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and vacationing.
He is survived by his four daughters, Lynn (Paul) Kunkel of Lakeville, Trina (Dallas Moe) Refsland of Cape Coral, Florida, Kara (Randy) Drescher of Rosemount, and Debbie (Jeffrey) Young of Apple Valley; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, Donald Arneson of Stewartville, and sister, Beverly Koehler of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry, and his parents.
Funeral services for Elton Charles Arneson will be held Sunday, February 28, at 2 p.m. with visitation 2 hours prior to the service at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Burial will follow at Oronoco Cemetery.
