ROCHESTER - Elsie M. Stull, age 98, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Rochester, died Friday (April 22, 2011) at Haven Manor Assisted Living in Lincoln.
Elsie Mary Block was born Feb. 25, 1913 on the family farm in Elmira Township, Olmsted County, Minn., to August and Anna (Jackson) Block. She attended country grade school and graduated from Chatfield High School. She attended Secretarial school for one year. On June 16, 1934 she married Louis Edward Stull at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. The couple lived in Rochester where Elsie did domestic home care for many families of medical personnel, and her husband was employed by the Rochester Public School System. Her husband died Jan. 31, 1974. She moved to Lincoln to live with her daughter in 2005.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladie's aide. Elsie enjoyed traveling, having visited most States in the USA and Canada, and flower and vegetable gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou (Robert) Reeves of Lincoln, Neb.; and Barbara Rahn of Utica, Minn.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Reeves of Leesville, LA; and Serena Reeves-Teske of Lincoln; and four great grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. James Heining officiating. Private burial will be in Chatfield Cemetery, Chatfield, MN.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to Paws and Claws.
