Ella Harper

Ella Maxine Harper, 73, of Red Wing, died Friday, November 3, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Red Wing.  She was born February 12, 1950, in Saxton Missouri, to Maxwell and Ella (Roberson) Ghrist and grew up in Tonica, Illinois where she graduated from high school.  In November of 1969, she married William Harper and they later divorced.  For many years, she worked as a home health aide.  In 2003, she moved to Red Wing to be closer to her daughter.  She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing video games with her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Dean (Denise) Harper and daughter, Becky (Chris) Harper; 3 grandchildren, Conor, Mak and Kailey; brother, Melvin (Linda) Ghrist; sister-in-law, Pat Ghrist and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings.

A service for Ella will be held at a later date in Illinois.  Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
