Ella Marguerite Evans

Ella Marguerite Evans was called Home to her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2011. Ella was born to Rachel and Joe Earp on September 18, 1929 in Booneville, IA. She married Edward "Ed" Evans in 1948 and together they raised three children. They spent the next 58 years living in Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri, returning to Minnesota in 2004. They spent many winters in Texas with good friends and warm winters. During their marriage they attended many churches and always enjoyed having a church family. Ella was very proud to be a Registered Nurse and worked in various hospitals and nursing homes wherever they lived. She was a farm girl and preferred living in the country where they could raise cattle and have a large garden. Her favorite times were those spent with her immediate and extended family, and in recent years she liked going for rides in the country and singing old familiar songs and hymns.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester who treated Ella with such kindness and dignity these past 4 years. We would also like to thank all the various staff members at Saint Marys Hospital who treated Ella so graciously in her last days.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 2007, her parents and all 4 of her siblings, their spouses and many other in-laws. She is survived by her children, Dan Evans of Tallahassee FL, Dave Evans of Mack, CO and Becky Nelson of Rochester, MN, along with grandchildren Kate Nelson, Brad Nelson, Angie Payfer, Joe Evans and Sean Evans. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Angela Earp, and many special nieces and nephews along with their families.
The immediate family shared a time of memories and prayer, and no funeral service will be held. It was Ella's wishes to be cremated and burial will take place at a later date in Mabel, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity or cause of your choice.
