Elizabeth C. "Betty" Zielsdorf-Fuchs age 85 of Zumbrota died on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at her sons home in Zumbrota. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Wayne Schoch officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 19th, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elizabeth Charlotte Hadel was born on February 18, 1922 in Stewartville, MN to Gustava and Frieda (nee Dohrmann) Hadel. Elizabeth attended Minneola Country School and Zumbrota School. After school she worked as a nanny for a doctors family in Rochester. On February 25, 1939 she married Reinhard Zielsdorf at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. They farmed near Stewartville and later moved to a farm near Zumbrota. In 1960 they built the Golden Fox Caf? with Elmer and Violet Stiller. They ran the caf? for fifteen years, before divorcing. On May 21, 1983 she married Reuben Schleusner at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. They resided in Zumbrota until his death on December 5, 1993 at their home. In 1996 Betty married Richard Fuchs and Richard died in December of 1997. Betty lived with her daughter until an illness in May of 2007 required her to enter a health care facility. Betty enjoyed waitressing at the Coffee Mill Restaurant, gardening, quilting, playing cards, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church, the church quilting group and had served as president of its ladies aid.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Carol (Dean) Jackson of Zumbrota, two sons, Larry (Becky) Zielsdorf and Steve (Carol) Zielsdorf, both of Zumbrota, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, stepchildren, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, one sister, Adeline Mann of Zumbrota, one brother, Herbert (Kerri) Hadel of Milwaukee, WI, one sister in law, Eunice Hadel of Coon Rapids, companion Earl Prigge of Zumbrota and many friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Harold Zielsdorf and one brother Walt Hadel. Casketbearers are Sharla Gerken, Angela Steffen, Shane Jackson and Peter, Ryan and Paul Zielsdorf. Honorary bearers are, Shannon Quast, April Bergen, Sheila Ryan, Tammie Kirchmann, Shelly Ward, Wendy Schroeder and Courtney Zielsdorf. The family suggests memorials to Christ Lutheran Church or Fairview Red Wing Hospice.
