Elizabeth J. Field, 82, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2009 at her home. Elizabeth was born July 5, 1927 in Chatfield, Minnesota to John & Olive (Anway) McRae. She grew up in the Chatfield and Hager City areas. Elizabeth married Walter Field on October 19, 1945 at the Island Bible Chapel. They farmed in the Red Wing area for a short time and in 1947 they moved to Diamond Bluff where they continued to farm. She was a member of the Diamond Bluff United Methodist Church where he served as the Bible School Director and taught Sunday school for many years. She also taught cake decorating and made cakes for weddings and birthdays. She was also a member of the Gideon's International, Red Wing VFW Auxiliary, and a Girl Scout leader for 13 years. They moved to Lake City in 2007. Walter passed away December 31, 2008.
She is survived by, 2 daughters Patsy (Rich) Elrod of Black River Falls, WI and Kelly (Steve) Perschau of Glencoe, MN; 1 son Roger (Peggy Rother) Field of Maiden Rock, WI.; 4 grandchildren Richard (Polly) Elrod of Appleton, WI, April Richter of Wauwatosa, WI, Wendy (Jerry) Turner of Sussex, WI, Job (Amy) Field of Lake City, MN; 8 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, Evan, Christian, Jackson, Willa, Zoey, Corbin. 2 brothers, Donald (Linnea) McRae, of Elk River, MN, Jerry (Bonnie) McRae of Red Wing; 2 sisters Beaty (Curt) Bestul of Eau Claire, WI, Jody (Ben) Schultz of Galesville, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, 1 daughter Joy Elizabeth Field, two brothers, John McRae Jr, and Paul McRae; two sisters, Norma McRae and Ida Goplin.
