Elinor "Ellie" Voth-Young

Elinor "Ellie" Lorraine Voth-Young, 60, of Yantis, Texas, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was born September 8, 1952 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Clarence and Annes (Block) Voth and was a 1970 graduate of Red Wing Central High School. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and then attained her master's degree from University of Wisconsin-Stout. In 1977 she returned to Red Wing and was employed at the Red Wing Vo-Tech as a media specialist and also taught GED classes there. In 1989 she moved to Texas and married Bob Young and they lived in Yantis, Texas. She worked as an administrator at the local Tarrant County Junior College, retiring in 2008. Bob died in July of 2011. Ellie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnsboro, Texas and had been involved with its youth group. She enjoyed writing poetry and she and Bob had "Bob Young's Crappie Jig" company and both enjoyed fishing.

She is survived by 4 siblings, Annette (Rev. Paul) Bacon of Skokie, Illinois, Martin (Althea) Voth of Red Wing, Kathryn Clements of Cannon Falls and Bev Hannon of Eagan, MN; brother-in-law, Gerhard Trittin of Hankinson, ND; 2 step-children, Mike (Tammy) Young and Carol Young both of Dallas, TX; 3 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; sister, Carol Trittin and a brother-in-law, Mark Hannon.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Paul Bacon officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to the First Presbyterian Church of Winnsboro, Texas or its youth group or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
