Eleonora Hinrichs

Eleonora Hinrichs age 94 of Lake City Passed away November 2, 2008 at High Street Assisted Living in Lake City.

Eleonora was born June 22, 1914 on the family farm in Tripoli, IA to William & Caroline (Schwerin) Tonne. On September 26, 1937 she married Eugene "Jim" Hinrichs in Tripoli, IA. They lived in Tripoli for a short time where they ran a produce business, then moved to Mallard where they continued working in the produce business. When her husband was called to service during WWII from 1944 to 1945, she operated the produce business. In 1953 they started farming in the Mallard area until retiring in 1970. In 1977 they moved to Lake City. Eugene passed away September 17, 2002. Eleonora was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City. She also served as the church organist for Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard and Bethany Lutheran church in Lake City.

She is survived by two sons, James (Muriel) of Walker, MN, Rev. Daniel (Pamela) of Racine, WI; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Eleonora was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Patricia Hinrichs, and three brothers.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:00 am at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Bruce Stam officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church or donors choice.
