Eleanor M. Peters age 91 of Lake City passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Lake City Nursing Home.
Eleanor was born April 2, 1918 in Lake City to William & Margaret (Issendorf) Peters. Eleanor graduated from Lake City High School in 1936. She married Harold H. Peters September 22, 1938 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. They farmed in the Zumbro Falls area until moving to the Jacksonville area in 1966. In 1986 they moved from the farm to Lake City. Eleanor worked at the Lake City Nursing home as a Nurses Aide for 17 years. Harold passed away November 26, 1992. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City and St. John's Ladies Aid.
She is survived by 3 sons, Larry (Pat) Peters of Greeley, CO, Lyle (Jan) Peters of Lake City, Bruce Peters of Ontario, CA; four daughters, Susan (Jack) McDaniel of Augusta, KS, Sharon (Mike) Drews of Eagan, MN, Janice Lovejoy of Rochester, MN, Rhonda (King) Marking of Lake City, 13 grandchildren19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter, Kelli McDaniel, three sisters, Emma Breuer, Edna Hadler, Wilhelmina Pagel and four brothers, Henry, Alfred, Adolph, Emery.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Memorials are preferred to the St. John's School Fund.
