Eleanor M. Bath

Eleanor Marie Bath, 84, of Red Wing, went to be with her husband in Heaven, on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family. Edward had just died March 25, 2011. Eleanor was born January 8, 1927, in Rochester, to Ole and Francis (Dillon) Fjeldahl. She attended school in Rochester and Big Fork. On Feb. 18, 1950, she married Edward Bath, Jr., in Red Wing. Early on she had worked as a telephone operator and then at Riedell Shoe Company. She later worked as a nurse's aid at the Seminary Home and as a ward clerk, where she helped organize activities for the residents. She was an artist, and enjoyed designing and painting the wood projects that her husband Ed would make. When she was younger, she loved ice skating and had been a Girl Scout Leader. Eleanor will be remembered as a good cook and practical joker and she always enjoyed doing things with her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of Church of St. Joseph.

She is survived by six children: Marlene (Ron) Tatro of Rochester, Susan (Jim) Gangl, Lydia (Paul) Parker and Candace (Marvin) Whipple, all of Red Wing, Edward "Ole" (Sandy) Bath of Wyoming and Terrance (Donna) Bath of Stillwater; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn "Peg" Lund of Rochester and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Ann Quirin and her husband, Ed.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
