Elaine Mina Reeve

August 28, 1917 — June 8, 2012

Elaine M. Reeve, age 94, of Zumbrota, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. She was born on August 28, 1917, in Pine Island Township, Goodhue County, to Edward and Gertrude (Remarkell) Zimmerman. She grew up on the family farm, attended country school and some high school. Elaine was an expert needle pointer, knitter and crocheter. She liked to play cards and scrabble. She was also an avid Twins fan.

Elaine worked as a telephone operator for many years in Zumbrota before moving to St. Paul to become a telephone operator, which was her occupation until retirement. After retirement she moved back to Zumbrota to be near her two sisters. Elaine was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.

Elaine is survived by her son, Carol (Marilyn) of Newbury Park, CA; daughter, Shirlee Drenckhahn of Cottage Grove; three grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by sons, Gary and Brian Reeve; brother, Roy Zimmerman; and sister, Ruth Olson.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Wayne Schoch officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
