Elaine Laqua
Elaine Ann Laqua, 86, of Lake City, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 28, 1926 in Toledo, OH to Frank and Frances (Heil) Klein. They moved Lake City, where Elaine attended and graduated from the McCahill School. She married Lloyd Leo Laqua on March 29, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They lived and farmed on Lloyd's family farm until his death in 1995. In 2008 Elaine moved to Lake City. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed making dolls, knitting, crocheting, and visiting with people.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Bryan) Juers of Lake City; grandchildren, Jennifer Juers of Rochester, Alyson (David) Strothman of Excelsior, MN, Nathan (Tray) Juers of Lake City, Jason Juers of Lake City; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Alexandra, Stella, and Madeline Strothman, Brandon, Mason, and Ella Juers; sister-in-laws, Lois Laqua of Lake City and Jean Klein of Wabsha; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Pete. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 25 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to mass at the church on Wednesday.
