Elaine A. Buck

Elaine Alvina Buck, age 85, of Pine Island died Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.
She was born December 25, 1924 in Stillwater, MN to William and Laura (Kolbe) Kunde. She grew up and attended school in the Stillwater area. She later married Harvey Buck. The two moved numerous times before settling in Pine Island. Elaine spent most of her time cooking, baking and taking care of her family and workers on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and watching the birds. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo at the nursing home along with any other types of entertainment there.
Elaine is survived by five children, daughters, Sherry Brown and Melody Briggs both of Pine Island; sons, Larry and Carey Buck both of Owatonna; and daughter Barb Vancanneyt of Zumbrota; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Violet Kunde, and grandson Chad Johnson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel in Pine Island with Reverend Carolyn Westlake officiating. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
