Eileen Barghusen
Eileen Anna Harriet Barghusen, 90, of Red Wing, died Friday at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born July 12, 1916 to Adolph and Emma (Sens) Steinhauer in Foster Township in Faribault County. She attended Wells High School graduating in 1935 and continued her teacher training until graduating in 1937. She taught rural schools in Waseca County. She married Orville Barghusen on May 8, 1947 in Wells, Minn. They lived and farmed in rural Goodhue. She worked for Riedell Shoes from 1969 until retiring in 1979. After retirement she continued farming until Orville death on July 7, 1993. She moved to Red Wing in 1994. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; she enjoyed sewing and crocheting, gardening, and birds.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Vincek of Red Wing; one sister, Waive Schlichting of Red Wing; special friends Kevin and Gwen Lunde and Michael Dahling; two step-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by husband, Orville and brother, Donald Steinhauer.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
