Edythe Elaine Walker-Roberts, Mah'piya Duta Wi, 56, a member of the Prairie Island Indian Community, died at her home on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. She was born on July 26, 1963 to Edith Elaine Pacini. Edythe grew up in Minneapolis and attended school there. She married Floyd Roberts and they made their home in Minneapolis. They later divorced and Edythe moved to Prairie Island. She loved shopping and enjoyed making trips into Red Wing to go to Walmart and Culvers. She was very into music and especially loved, Al Green, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones. Whenever anyone who loves her hears "Oh Honey" by Delegation, they'll be thinking of Edythe.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Kyle Hinsch) Roberts of Welch; 8 grandchildren, Dominic, Julian, Jada, John Jr., Shenal, Shelby, Athena and Eva; 3 siblings, Mason Pacini of Bloomington, Christina Pacini of Chandler, Arizona, and Samuel (Kachina) Wells of Minnetonka; nieces and nephews, Victoria, Elijah, Isaiah and Grace.
She preceded in death by her son, John Roberts, Sr. and her mother.
Pallbearers, active and honorary, include; Sam Pacini, Todd Kurth, William Rowe, Alex Wells, Arthur Lockwood, David Carson, John Roberts Jr., Elijah Wells, Ivan Baker, Mason Pacini, Isaiah Wells, Swen Baker, Fred Urich, and Floyd Roberts.
