Edwin Junior Fellman, 86, Red Wing, died Friday at his residence. He was born April 24, 1922 in Red Wing, the son of Edward and Emily (Timmerberg) Fellman. He attended Haycreek/Goodhue County Rural Schools. He served in the U. S. Army as a paratrooper during WW II from July 24, 1944 to June 27, 1946. He married Jeanette Tomforde on September 22, 1951 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. He worked at Reichert Bottling, Red Wing Nursery, Red Wing Creamery and finally at Red Wing Public Works retiring there in 1984 after 32 years. After retirement Edwin worked at the Red Men Lodge #31 and the Seminary Plaza in Red Wing. He was a member of Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54, Burnson Lillyblad VFW #1218, Red Men Lodge #31, and he was a volunteer firefighter.
Survivors include his two daughters, Gail (Kathy King) Fellman of St. Paul and Susan (Bernard) Connaughton of Red Wing; two sons, Scott and Randy Fellman, both of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Landon Pirius, Darci Pirius, Seamus Connaughton, Shannon Connaughton, and Aimee Connaughton; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 4, 2009 and one hour prior to services.
