Edward "Rusty" Russell Swagger, 49, of Pepin, Wisconsin, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Wabasha. He was born September 4, 1957, in Lake City to Russell and Loretta (Cross) Swagger. He attended grade school and Lincoln High School in Lake City. For a number of years he worked at a factory in Winona and then traveled throughout Washington, California and Florida. Presently he was manager of the furniture department at Wal-Mart in Red Wing. On September 23, 2006 he was married Carrie Donley and they live in Pepin. He enjoyed fishing and he was very well liked by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie; parents Loretta and Russell Swagger of
Lake City; two step-children, Skyler and Brittany Farthing of Pepin; two brothers, Gary (Karen) Swagger of California and Brian Swagger of Lake City; one sister, Deborah Gipson of California and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Terje Hausken officiating. Burial will be in the Lakewood cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
