OBITUARY: Edward "Pete" Pederson

Funeral service for Edward "Pete" Pederson will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island with Reverend Greg Strunk officiating. Casketbearers will be Terry Pederson, Craig Pederson, Rick Murray, Dean Murray, Doug Klatt, Danny Klatt, Ben Pederson and Corey Pederson. Burial will follow in the Pine Island Cemetery.

Edward "Pete" Pederson, age 88, of Pine Island died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Pine Haven Care Center. He was born Edward Bernard Pederson on December 7, 1920 in Kenyon to Edward and Agnes (nee Helland) Pederson. He attended school in Kenyon and worked for the IWIN Box Company in Pine Island, delivered milk and farmed around the Kenyon-Pine Island area and worked as a telephone lineman for the Pine Island Telephone Company for almost 40 years. On July 24, 1965, Pete married Harriett Mieras in Pine Island. He enjoyed working, fishing and tinkering on whatever needed repaired.

Pete is survived by his wife, Harriett, of Pine Island; one son, Larry (Lois) Pederson, of Zumbrota; two daughters: Donna (Gary) Dovel, of Annandale and Elaine Borchert, of New Mexico; one step-son, Greg (Pam) Wilkening, of Granite Falls; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Agnes; two sons: Dale and John; two daughters: Francis and Pamela; three brothers: James, Louis and Raymond; and four sisters: Pearl, Sally, Lillian and June.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., on Friday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home â�" Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
