Funeral services for Edward ‘Ed' Moline will be held Wednesday March 19th at 11:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. The Reverend William Meiers will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Mr. Moline, 93, of Rochester, died Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Cottagewood in Rochester.
Edward James Moline was born April 18, 1920 in Circle, Montana and was raised there. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He earned a degree in business from the University of Minnesota and pursued a career in municipal finance. He married Gunnel Carlson on May 20, 1950 in Minneapolis and the couple raised three daughters. Following retirement he returned to his cowboy roots when in 1989 he opened WestWind Acres in Rochester, a family operated horse boarding business. He was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Rochester Riders Saddle Club. One of the greatest joys of his retirement years was having his 6 grandsons by his side working on the "ranch."
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and his loving wife of 51 years.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Roxanne (Mark) Darnell of Rochester, Wenda (Tom) Bowe of Prescott, Wisconsin, and Sharon (Tim) Renaux of Rochester; 6 grandsons, Scott (Catherine) Darnell, Andy (Amanda) Bowe, Steve (Kim) Bowe, Matt Bowe, Drew Renaux, and Ryan Renaux; and 4 great-grandchildren, Braiden Darnell, Nolan Bowe, Marshall Bowe, and Meadow Bowe.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
