Edroy O Urevig

Edroy Olaf Urevig was born on August 22, 1930 on the family farm in rural community of Sogn, MN. On Janurary 5, 1951 he married Ruth Mielke at Urland Lutheran Church where he was also baptized and confirmed. Shortly thereafter they moved to Alabama, where he served in the Army. After his military service they returned to the Sogn community to start their own family farm. In the 1960's they moved to Zumbrota where they continued to milk cows and farm until their retired. After retirement they continued to live on the farm, gardening and tending to the lawn and flowers until Ruth passed in 2012. Edroy continued to work a small garden but mostly, he really enjoyed mowing the lawn. For a winter past time he enjoyed putting together a wide variety of puzzles and framing them for display; for the entire family to enjoy. Edroy enjoyed most of all, his last dog "Sammy" who was always by his side.
Edroy is survived by his daughter Jane (Tyron) Friese of Zumbrota, MN; sons, Russell (Rita) Urevig of Port Wing, WI, and Wesley (Robyn) Urevig of Pine Island, MN; grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Widdes, Jill (Tony) Burkhart, Meggan Urevig, Zachary Urevig (Andrea Markham) and Lucas (Alexandra) Urevig; great-grandchildren, Hanna and Jacob Widdes, Brody Burkhart and Liam Urevig.
Edroy was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's choice.
