Edna Margaret Stafford

Edna Margaret Stafford, 102, of Pine Island, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Pine Haven Care Center. Edna was born on April 19, 1909, in Douglas, MN, to Hulga (Schmidt) and Gustave Glasenapp. She attended school in Douglas. She married Arthur Stafford in 1927. They farmed near Pine Island. Edna was very active in the farming. They were married 66 years and had three children. Arthur passed away in 1992. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island was very active in the church. Edna enjoyed quilting, which she did until she was 99 years old.

She is survived by one son, Arnold (Ann) Stafford of Pine Island; one daughter, Deloris Kramer-Skalicky of Medford; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Prummer.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Reverend John Torris Lohre and Reverend Kip Groettum officiating. Burial will be at Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
