Duane Earl Kask

Duane Earl Kask, 47, of Lund, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. He was born on August 11, 1964 in Red Wing to Clyde and Lois (Wentz) Kask. He graduated in 1983 from Prescott High School. On October 5, 1985 he married Karen Kullman at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prescott. He worked at Durkee Atwood, Glass Express in River Falls and then owned and operated Kask's Custom Woodworking. He was a member of Lund Covenant Church, the Pepin Sportsmans Club and a past member of the Lund Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, trap shooting, fishing and NASCAR. He also enjoyed boating, camping and his salt water tropical fish. Duane had a great sense of humor and when he did something he gave it his all.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; one son, Trevor of Lund; his mother, Lois (George Lother) Kask of Diamond Bluff; two sisters, Cheryl (Michael) Guthrie of Red Wing and Tammy (Dave) Dodge of Diamond Bluff; brother-in-law, Jeff Erickson of Stockholm; niece and nephews, John (Jill) Erickson, Nicholas (Beth) Dodge, Nathan Dodge, Michelle Guthrie and Scott Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde and sister, Susan.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Lund Covenant Church with Reverend Greg Satterberg officiating. Burial will be in the Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials are preferred to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
