Duane C. Jackson age 72 of Zumbrota died on Sunday, July 22, 2108 at the Pine Haven Care Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with Pastor Eric Westlake of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
Duane Carl Jackson was born on June 26, 1946 in Red Wing, MN to Gerald and Verna (Bremseth) Jackson. He grew up in rural Zumbrota. Duane started working for his father, Gerald in the milk hauling business. On October 14, 1966 he married Virginia L. Rubin in Pine Island. Duane and his brother Doug purchased the business from their father and together ran the business for many years later splitting the business. In the mid-1990's, Duane partnered with his son Raymond. Duane retired in 2011. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and camping.
Duane is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Dale) Thorn of Pine Island, and Denise (Owen) Grengs of Brownsdale, who Duane and Virginia raised from the age of four; son, Raymond (Tracy) Jackson of Mazeppa; grandchildren, Jacob (Jessica) Warehime of Blue Earth, Adam (Sierra Jensen) Warehime of Dodge Center, Tyler Jackson, Alex Jackson and Juliah Jackson all of Mazeppa, Daniel (Kayla Priem) Ellefson of Bellechester, Courtney Ellefson and Autumn Morris both of Pine Island; great-grandchildren, Hayden Warehime, Gannon Warehime and Hudson Warehime; siblings, Douglas Jackson of Mazeppa, Stanley (Carol) Jackson of Zumbrota, Dean (Carol) Jackson of Zumbrota, Donavon (Linda) Jackson of Mazeppa, Donna (Fred) Betcher of Mazeppa, Dennis (Paula) Jackson of Zumbrota, Daniel (Pamela) Jackson of Hackensack, Deidra (Brian) Mensing of Pine Island, Debra (Daryl) Rueb of Pine Island and Dawn (Marcus) Bufford of Zumbrota.
Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia on February 4, 2014; parents, Gerald and Verna; brother, Darroll and sister, Jerretta Lexvold.
