Douglas "Kcooter" Stephens, 63, of Frontenac, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born March 24, 1954, in Minneapolis, to Eugene and Rita (Jarnot) Stephens. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School and lived and worked various places before settling in Frontenac. For over 37 years, he had worked in the construction business. On July 18, 1975, he married Debra Bade and together they had two children. They later divorced. He loved to hunt, feed his fish, garden, tinker and do woodworking. He loved being with his family and enjoyed his dogs and cats. "Dug" will be remembered for his unique sense of humor-you never had to wonder how he felt about things.
He is survived by his partner of more than 30 years, Nancy Binner; children, Rachael (Justin) Bergeman, Tammy (Chad) Roschen, Jeremy (Brenda) Stephens and Jason (Stef) Binner; brother, Darryl Stephens; sisters, Sheila (Brian Rothwell) Priem, Michelle Stephens and Sandy Stephens; grandchildren, Brandon (Katelynn), Makinlee, Savanna, Vanessa, Jack and Alec; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Ayden and Alec; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Stephens.
A celebration of "Dug's" Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
