Douglas Rose, 70, of West Albany, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 21, 2019 at his home. He was born January 2, 1949 in Willmar, MN to Charles and Jean (Clark) Rose. He graduated from Willmar High School in 1967 and went on to St. Cloud Vocational School where he studied to be an electrician. Doug became a Journeyman Electrician and eventually was a Master Electrician. He travelled across the United States working as a Project Manager for different companies; he even went to China to oversee a project. In 1986 he married Sandra Decker in Crested Butte, CO. They eventually moved to MN where they retired. Doug enjoyed many adventures outdoors hunting and fishing across the U.S. and Canada, along with trapping. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and showing them the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of West Albany; children, Todd (Juli) Rose of Eau Claire, WI, Becky (Chris) Boyer of Avon; step-children, Laurie (John) Walters of Oakley, CA, Brandon Rose of Eagle Lake, MN; eleven grandchildren, Page, Zachary (Kayla), Dylan, Hailey, Sydni, Dani, Justin, Niki, Travis, Ryan, Drake; two great-grandsons, Easton and Oliver; step-mother, Patricia Rose of Owatonna; brothers, Michael (Jan) of San Diego, CA, Steve of Woodbridge, VA, Patrick of Owatonna; nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Molly. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pam; sister in law, Betsy.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday December 2, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
