Dorothy Steiner

Dorothy ?Dode? Eleanor Steiner, age 80, of Red Wing died Sunday March 4, 2007 at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was born on May 20, 1926 in Red Wing to Arthur and Elna (Dahlgren) Smith. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1944. On August 9, 1947 she married James ?Red? Steiner in Red Wing. She worked for the City of Red Wing for 17 years retiring in 1986. James died July 5, 1988. She was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family cabin on Big Round Lake. Survivors include: two children Steve (Kellie) Steiner of Ellsworth and Sara (Roger) Heitman of Red Wing; three grandchildren, Krissy (Corey) Fanning of Woodville, WI, Nick Heitman of Denver, Colorado and Steffie Steiner of Ellsworth; step-grandson, Corey (Holly) Christensen of Red Wing; five great-grandchildren, Cody Christensen, Matthew Ward, Hayden Steiner, Mason Fanning, and Keean Huppert. She was preceded in death by her husband. Memorial Service will be 6 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or the Church of St. Joseph.
