Dorothy Peterson

Dorothy Marie Peterson, Age 81, of Red Wing, died Friday, October 13, 2006, at her home. She was born on September 3, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, to Henry and Marie (Zasadil) Seavey. She was a 1943 graduate of Brookfield Riverside High School. She worked for McLaughlin?s in Chicago prior to her marriage to Arthur Peterson on July 1, 1950 in Chicago. They lived in Chicago, Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights and retired to Boulder Junction, Wisconsin in 1989. He died on December 7, 1992, and she moved to Red Wing in July of 1993. She and her sister performed with ice skating shows. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, gardening and cross country skiing. Survivors include six children, Kathy (Philip) Bloch of Chicago, Wayne (Sue) Peterson of Owatonna, Joanne (Russell) Peters of Red Wing, Steven (Lynn) Peterson of Tracy, Cheryl (Christopher) Miller of Chicago and Lynn (Shawn) McDonald of West Dundee, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Carolyn (Ken) Stark of Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin. Her husband preceded her in death. Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Anne?s Cemetery, Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, with Father Eugene Hornung officiating. Pallbearers will be Wayne, Steven and Mark Peterson, Russell and Eric Peters and Shawn McDonald. Visitation will be from 4 ? 7 p.m. Wednesday with a family wake service at 7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society
