Dorothy Louise Mickelson

Dorothy Louise Mickelson, 87, of Lake City, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born on January 11 1928, in Wabasha County, Minnesota to Edward and Anna (Reese) Glander. She attended St. John's Parochial Schools in Lake City. On August 22, 1950 she married Milton Mickelson at St. John's Lutheran Church. She did daycare at her home, was a homemaker and worked part time as a waitress at the Old Bank Bar. Milton died on August 24, 1986. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling and listening to music, especially polka music. Her family also recalls her love for gardening, canning, going out eat and being with family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Steven (Sherry) Mickelson, Ronald (Donna) Mickelson and Richard Mickelson all of Lake City, three grandchildren, Jodi (Dylan) Christopherson, Trista Mickelson, Corey Mickelson and Sarah; one great grandchild, Billy Christopherson; two brothers, Eugene (Cheryl) Glander and Marvin Glander all of Lake City; special friend Alvin Luhmann of Lake City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, Ralph, Alvin, Ray, Orlin and Clarence and two sisters, Phyllis Hoffman and Lorraine Springer.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
