Dorothy Mildred Lindstrom

Dorothy Mildred Lindstrom, 68, of Red Wing, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her five children. She was born December 7, 1940 in Red Wing, to Elmer and Mildred (Wettern) Kuhl. In 1958, she graduated from Red Wing Central High School. After graduating, she worked at Holst Vogel and Richardson Law Office. On September 22, 1962, she married Raymond Lindstrom in Red Wing. Raising her five children and taking care of her family was her main and most enjoyable career, though she did work for many years at Red Wing Loan and Investments. Raymond died November 1, 2000. She then worked for the Goodhue County Abstract Company. She did volunteer work in many places, some including the Red Wing Food Shelf and Mississippi Shuffle as well as a Goodhue County Voting Clerk. Dorothy enjoyed baking, sewing and writing, but more than anything, she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and being with her family.

She is survived by 5 children, Laurie (Dean) Budensiek of Goodhue, Dawn (Rob) Harman of Phoenix, Ariz., David (Sue) Lindstrom of Inver Grove Heights, Susan (Peter) Vaillant of Andover and Catherine (Eric) Boelter of Milwaukee, Wisc.; grandchildren, Melissa and Kristin Budensiek, Emma and Thomas Harman, Jon Stephani, Stephanie and Nicole Lindstrom, Noah, Ellen and William Vaillant and Emma, Annalyse and Erich Boelter; great-grandchildren, Celeste and Amber Stephani; sister, Elaine (Thomas) Barnes of Red Wing; brother, Dale (Cathy) Kuhl of Red Wing; aunts; several nieces, nephews and brother and sister-in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray and her parents, Elmer and Mildred Kuhl.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael and Tom Barnes, John and Paul Blim, Daniel Kuhl, Dale, Jack and Michael Lindstrom and Jeff Woldmoe. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jon Stephani, Thomas Harman, Noah and William Vaillant and Erich Boelter. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to donor's choice.
