Dorothy Ann (Babler) Jamison

Dorothy Ann Jamison, 69, of Red Wing, died Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems – St. Mary’s Campus, in Rochester.

She was born April 4, 1953 in Red Wing to Ralph and Grace (Kragness) Babler. She grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1971.  She married Leonard Jamison on September 5, 1970 in Ellsworth. The couple made their home in Red Wing and raised 4 children. Dorothy worked at Cannon Equipment in Cannon Falls and Treasure Island Casino. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Red Wing where she was involved in Ruth’s Circle and Prayer and Care Team. She enjoyed helping others and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. She also served on the Residence Committee at Jordan Towers where she lived for many years.

Dorothy enjoyed being involved with her community and if there was a bake sale or a craft sale Dorothy was there to share her baking and sewing skills. She liked the outdoors and in her younger years, enjoyed fishing. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her dog, Patch, and she made sure to scrapbook all of their adventures together.

She will be missed by many, including her children; Leonard Jr. (Jolenne) of River Falls, Jonathan (Tricia) of Ellsworth, and Lance of Largo, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin “Bob” Smith of Red Wing; as well as many surviving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; daughter, Tammy; brothers, Gary and Paul Babler; sister, Kathy Hall; and her parents.

A visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Red Wing. Additionaly, a Celebration of Life will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday August 13 , 2022 at the Izaak Walton with Reverend Linda McCollough offiating. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
