Dorothy Mae Harding, 88, of Red Wing, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at her home, at the Villa at Hi-Park. She was born November 17, 1924, in Oak Grove Township, Wisconsin, to Frank and Irene (Schmidt) Weyh. Growing up, she attended Harding School in Oak Grove Township. On December 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Earl Harding at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They farmed for many years in Oak Grove Township. She also helped her husband at the school bus garage and had worked at the Ellsworth Care Center. In the past, she had been an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Prescott, where she was on the ladies's aid society. Currently, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Dorothy had volunteered as a Pink Lady at the St. John's Hospital Auxiliary and was a part of the Oak Grove Township Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She is survived by 2 sons, Robert F. (Bonnie) Harding of Rochester and Ronald W. (Lynda) Harding of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Stacy) Harding, Jeff (Kari) Harding and Grant and Elizabeth Harding; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Faith, Justin, Jordan, Nolan, Rachel and Gabrielle Harding.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; an infant brother; her 2 year-old sister and one great-grandson, Adam Harding.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing, with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing.
