Dorothy Mae Andrews

Dorothy Mae Andrews, 94, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minn. She was born July 12, 1923 in Cannon Falls, Minn. to Richard and Kate (Felien) Moorhouse. She attended rural schools in the Cannon Falls area and help work on her family's farm. She particularly enjoyed showing her prize winning Holsteins at the county fair. On May 9th, 1952 she married Nyle Paulsen and the couple had three children. Nyle passed away on November 29, 1959. 7 years later, on November 18, 1966 Dorothy married Alvin Andrews and the couple made their home in Red Wing. Prior to her marriage, she worked washing dishes and waiting tables at Liberty's and the A&W. She would go on to be a wonderful homemaker. She was a talented gardener who loved flowers and to be outdoors. She was also a wonderful canner and baker. She made great jams, jellies and pickles, but she was particularly known for her excellent elderberry pies. Dorothy loved her animals and to spend time visiting with her neighbors, family and friends.
She will be missed by many, including her three children, Don, Richard (Nancy) and June Paulsen; grandchildren, Angie Paulsen, Lori (R.J.) Johnson, Jaime Paulsen, Andy Paulsen, Casey Hougas and Alex Paulsen; great grandchildren, Randi, Dani, Marlee, Morgan and Autumn; sister, Muriel Edquist; niece, Mary Edquist; nephews, William (Barb) Eberhart and Fred (Lori) Eberhart; many cousins, other family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by husbands, parents and one sister, Florence Eberhart.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church with Reverend David Baker officiating. Visitation will be 4-7p.m., Friday February 2 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service.
