Doris Lucille Miller, age 83, of Red Wing died Thursday September 30, 2010 at her home. She was born on March 8, 1927 in Stockholm, Wisconsin the daughter of Bennie and Anna (Janisch) Betterley. She attended school at Lost Creek in Pierce County, Wisconsin. On May 14, 1947 she married Clarence W. Miller. They lived in Red Wing and he died on February 21, 2010. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Burnson-Liliyblad V.F.W. and Leo Peterson Legion Auxiliaries. She loved gardening, shopping, sewing and designing, arts and crafts, camping, fishing, cooking, baking, and above all took great joy in watching and being part of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's lives and activities. She also enjoyed taking care of all her family and those who called her "Ma".
She is survived by two sons, Vern Miller, Arnie (Beverly) Miller all of Red Wing, one daughter Dorene Marroquin (Steven Dettling) of Welch, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; one brother Russ Betterley, one sister Dororthy Lemmerhirt, brother in law Vernon Lemmerhirt, one granddaughter Annette Miller.
Mass of the resurrection will be 11:00 am Thursday October 7, 2010 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas Kommers presiding. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday October 6 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel at the church one hour prior to services.
