OBITUARY NOTICE
DORIS FORTNER
Doris Geraldine Fortner, 90 of Red Wing, died Thursday, August 2, 2007, at Fairview Seminary Home in Red Wing. She was born on February 24, 1917 in Salem Township, Wisconsin to Ellsworth and Ella (Meyer) Hague. She attended Lincoln grade school helped on the farm, and hired out doing house work. She worked in the factory during the war and later completed her Nurses Aides training in Denver, Colorado. On October 6, 1956 she married Robert Fortner at Ono Methodist Church. They lived in Minneapolis until Robert's retirement in 1967. She moved to Arkansas for 10 years and then returned to Minnesota. Robert died March 7, 1987. A member of First United Methodist Church, she enjoyed needlework and volunteering at Jordan Towers.
Survivors include two sisters, Ardith (Charles) Latcham of Red Wing and Myrna Lind of Cottage Grove; two brothers, Ivan Hague of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Neville Hague of Danville, Virginia; one step-son, Daniel Fortner of Hot Springs, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Vincent and step-son Robert Fortner, Jr.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Walther officiating. Burial will be in the Maiden Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
