Dorene L. Tiedemann

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” Matthew 25:21

Without a doubt, this is the greeting our mom, Dorene Tiedemann, age 94 of Stockholm, WI received when she arrived at her eternal home on October 31, 2023.

Mom made it very clear that she did not want a flowery lengthy obituary.  Though extremely active in her church and community, while helping her husband farm and raise a family in Plainview, MN or during retirement in Pepin, WI, she did not want those contributions mentioned.  She simply wanted:  I was born on November 16, 1928 to Emil and Elsie (Brueske) Sell.  I married Ralph Tiedemann (deceased December 2003) on October 6, 1948.  I had five children; Thomas (Vicki) of Sioux Falls, SD, Ellen of Red Wing, Larry, sadly deceased in April 2023 (Vicki) of Winona, Susan Mahn of Red Wing, and Paula (Rick) Mueske of Cottage Grove.  Also, survived by eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; brother, John Sell of Elgin.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph; sister, Marie Bolton.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pepin, WI with Reverend Dean Simpson officiating.  Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City, MN.  Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing and one hour prior to the funeral at church.  Memorials are preferred to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Women.
