Donna Lee Swygman

ROCHESTER - Donna Swygman, age 85, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at the Stewartville Care Center. Donna Lee Moore was born Mar. 8, 1929 in Rochester to Harry and Pearl (Kleist) Moore. She was raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1947. She worked at Knowltons Department Store before her marriage to Eugene A. Swygman on Sept. 9, 1951 in Rochester, and later on at Jack's IGA and the Northgate Health Club in the nursery. She was a member of PFLAG, Parents, Families, and Friends, of Lesbians and Gays. She enjoyed family activities, card club and embroidery.
Survivors include her daughter, Teri (Larry) Hall of Rochester; two sons, Scott (Kathy) of Rochester; and Craig of Minneapolis, grandchildren, Amber (Nathan) Blanchard, Kelly (Troy) Zakariasen, Crystal (Peter) Lawton, Carolyn (Brandon) Crane, Shannon Swygman, and Jason (Kendra) Swygman, sixteen great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Eleanor Moore of Rochester, and Janette Ostendorf of Minneapolis, and special family friends, Terry Erickson of Minneapolis, and Janie Holmes of Rochester. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.
Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
